Critical Issue Fast Path - Reliability Backstop Procurement / Connect & Manage
On April 8, 2026, the PJM Board of Managers issued a letter PDF initiating a Critical Issue Fast Path (CIFP) process delineated in Manual 34, Section 8.6.4, to engage stakeholders in the development of a Reliability Backstop Procurement proposal.

On May 19, 2026, the PJM Board of Managers issued a second related letter PDF, wherein the Board directed that the scope of the CIFP – Reliability Backstop Procurement be expanded to incorporate the Phase 1 scope of the Connect and Manage Sr. Task Force (CAMSTF) (the scope included in the PJM proposed Connect & Manage Issue Charge).
